"I'm glad about winning the Nobel Prize. But it doesn't mean much as there are many other great writers in China who could have got global recognition for their excellent works."

Mo Yan, winner of the Nobel Prize for literature in 2012, saying that the current craze for his works in China is temporary and will abate soon. The author maintained that he still prefers a low profile after a rush for his books following the awards.

"The urban management officer concerned owns 21 houses. His main source of income is through fines imposed on peddlers. I wouldn't even dare to write that in my fairytales."

Zheng Yuanjie, a well-known fairytale writer, commenting on the recent news report that an urban management officer in Guangzhou owned 21 houses. The local government has already suspended the concerned official Cai Bin, an urban management official of Panyu district, after initial investigations showed his family owned 21 houses, well above what his legitimate earnings would allow.

"Through the exhibition I just wanted the general public to perceive sexuality properly and become more open about it as a part of human nature, rather than treating it as a social taboo."

Ma Xiaonian, owner of a sex museum in Beijing, who has collected more than 2,000 items relating to sexuality and reproduction, saying that the main purpose of such exhibitions is to correct widespread misconceptions about sex.
