The world's largest 'Tianhuang' stone has been auctioned off for 109 million yuan ($16.5 million) in Beijing, the highest auction price ever paid for a so-called 'yellowfield' stone, reports thepaper.cn.

The 1.7 kilogram chunk of nacrite has 9 dragon seals carved into the stone, and are shown playing with a pearl.

128 other Tianhuang stones were also auctioned at the sale in Beijing on December 3, 2017.

The stone ornate Tianhuang stone was extracted toward the end of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) from Shoushan county in Southeast China's Fujian province.
