BEIJING -- Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong has said the central government will focus on developing an education system that is of higher quality and equal for all.
Liu said at a national educators' work-shop in Beijing that the government will address desires for more high quality schools and overloaded homework for primary and secondary school children.
Reform should also be made to encourage innovation, she said.
Education budgets should be spent in the right areas, she said.
More should be done to improve access to good education for children from poor families and prevent dropping-out, she said.
