Chongqing launches parking space program for food delivery, courier vehicles

CHONGQING - Southwest China's Chongqing municipality has piloted a new method of providing parking spaces for food delivery and courier vehicles in order to enhance city management.
To solve problems of disorderly parking across the city, Chongqing has recently launched a pilot program in the Liangjiang New Area, cracking down on parking and traffic violations.
For vehicles providing special services, such as food delivery and express delivery, the new area plans to set up specialized parking spaces.
The municipal postal administration will issue special stickers and purchase insurance for package delivery vehicles, while food delivery businesses will also issue special stickers for their vehicles. These vehicles are able to park in authorized parking spaces.
Parking spaces will be set up in areas where parking is in high demand, such as business districts, hospitals, residential communities and office buildings.
Parking attendants will be dispatched to maintain order in those areas.
