BEIJING - A book of Xi Jinping's discourses on promoting the building of a community with a shared future for humanity has been published in English by the Central Compilation and Translation Press.

The Chinese version of the book was published by the Central Party Literature Press in June 2018.

The English book, translated by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, includes 85 pieces of expositions on the subject by President Xi, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Based on the Chinese version, the English version added notes, indexes, abbreviations and other content to adapt to foreign readers' reading habits.

The English book is helpful for foreign readers to have a deep understanding of Xi's theoretical thinking on major issues concerning the future of humanity, such as "what kind of world to build and how."

It also helps them grasp the background, significance, main content and approach of building a community with a shared future for humanity, and better understand Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and China's foreign policy.
