China demands more comprehensive 2019 college entrance exam

BEIJING -- China's 2019 college entrance exam should test all-around qualities, such as morality, and universities are expected to add a physical exam for independent enrollment in the hope that students would attach more importance to physical training, said the Ministry of Education Monday.
The ministry said they would establish a long-term mechanism to provide students from rural or poverty-stricken areas better access to universities.
The ministry also called on the national and provincial governments to help strengthen the disclosure of enrollment information in universities and high schools to increase transparency.
Any behavior violating regulations or laws in the national college entrance exam will receive severe punishment, said the ministry.
