China took the second spot in the world's top 10 richest countries, with private wealth reaching $23.6 trillion in 2018, a 130 percent surge over the previous year, according to Global Wealth Migration Review 2019, published by the research company New World Wealth.

The US remains the world's wealthiest country, with private wealth valued at $60.7 trillion in 2018.

The report said the global private wealth jumped to $204 trillion in 2018, and the world's top 10 richest countries' private wealth accounted for 74 percent of global private wealth.
