Many international companies which attended the recently-concluded China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai are now exhibiting their products at the China Yiwu Imported Commodities Autumn Fair in Zhejiang province, local media reported on Nov 14.

One such company is Canadian dairy producer Avalon. Avalon boasts a history of 113 years and has established itself as one of Canada's leading organic milk brands. It won the favor of Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Canada.

"We knew Yiwu as the world's biggest wholesale market for small commodities, a home for global businessmen, and a city with a robust logistics system," said Gray Gu, a spokesperson for the Avalon delegation.

Diagonally across from the Avalon booth is the 100-square-meter booth of Germany-based industry giant Bosch.

"We had too many products to choose from, so for this expo we've settled on 16 intelligent lock products, a quickly expanding area of business for Bosch," Said Hu Chenchen, a staff member of Bosch's intelligent lock division.

"Yiwu offers a superb platform for exhibitors. We participated in Yiwu's import fairs in the past and were impressed, so we're back for another round," added Hu.

According to Jonathan Zhang, a spokesperson for the organizing committee, the China Yiwu Imported Commodities Autumn Fair offers a second chance for products that missed out on CIIE, including over 200 Latin American products such as chili sauce, tacos, and emeralds.

Yiwu will team up with a Colombian emerald association to build a trade center and bring more Latin American products to the city's import market, said Zhang.
