The 2019 CICA Finance Summit was held at the Liyuan Resort International Conference Center in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Nov 16 to 17, attracting more than 400 CICA member states, Asian financial elites, corporate leaders, as well as well-known experts and scholars from home and abroad.

CICA, or Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, is a forum for dialogues and consultations on regional security issues in Asia.

Sponsored by the Nanning government and the China Association for the Promotion of Development Financing, the summit was themed around "Promoting Pragmatic CICA Financial Cooperation." It aimed to strengthen financial cooperation and explore financial development opportunities.

The summit not only promoted financial cooperation between CICA member countries and ASEAN countries, but also provided an important opportunity for Guangxi to build a trade corridor for ASEAN, a strategic fulcrum for the opening up and development of Southwest China, as well as an important gateway of the Belt and Road.

Guangxi will continue to promote multi-disciplinary and cross-border financial business innovation, promote the construction of regional RMB offshore financial centers and regional currency trading centers, as well as increase RMB business innovation with Asian financial institutions to expand the use of RMB in foreign trade, direct investment, and cross-border financing.

In addition, it will also promote cross-border financial exchange and cooperation mechanisms, as well as the normalization and institutionalization of financial exchanges and cooperation with Asian countries, relying on international financial platforms such as the CICA Financial Summit.
