Shanxi furthers its ties to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region

A series of economic and trade events between Shanxi province and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was held in Beijing on Jan 3, according to the organizers.
With the theme "integration, sharing, promotion and win-win cooperation", the economic and trade events aimed to increase investment in Shanxi province.
It also aimed to accelerate the industrial transfer from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, speed up the integration of Shanxi into Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei's coordinated development -- as well as strengthen the industry and project promotions of cities, counties and development zones from Shanxi in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, the Promotion Association of Industrial Technology Innovation Alliance in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and the Zhongguancun Green Technology Poverty Alleviation Innovation Industry Alliance jointly organized the series events.
These included the Shanxi and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference, Shanxi and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industry Transfer Matchmaking negotiations and a well-known Shanxi product and specialty fair.
The investment promotion government departments of 11 cities in Shanxi province and five provincial-level development zones promoted their leading industries, key development directions and the business environment at the Shanxi and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference.
There, representatives of 14 companies conducted presentations on intelligent equipment, biomedicines, energy conservation and environmental protection sectors.
Experts, academics and representatives of business associations gave speeches on how the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region can help Shanxi's transformation and upgrading.
Covering an exhibition area of 1,200 square meters, the Shanxi famous products and specialty fair attracted companies from 34 counties in Shanxi and 12 provincially time-honored companies to display products in the food and beverages, agricultural, biopharmaceuticals, e-commerce and wine sectors.
Through economic and trade cooperation exchanges, product fairs and project matchmaking, a total of 27 projects of 91.3 million yuan ($13.09 million) were signed on the spot during the series events.
