In response to the recent outbreak of coronavirus (2019-nCoV), the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanxi Provincial Government opened a special English-language helpline for foreigners on Jan 29.

The provincial foreign affairs office has advised foreigners living in the province to try and stay indoors, pay close attention to their health and hygiene, and to regularly check their temperatures. 

In the meantime, people should take note of the official updates provided by the Chinese government, as well as the relevant information and preventive measures taken by the provincial government. Foreign residents can find information on diagnosis and treatment through the new helpline and platforms of Shanxi Health Commission.
