The Benefiting Overseas Chinese Project Chinese Food Prosperity Base of Yangzhou University released 24 local Yangzhou foods related to the 24 solar terms, aiming to promote Chinese food to the world.

Based on the climate and seasonal ingredients available during the different solar terms, 24 Huaiyang dishes were made by famous Chinese chiefs.

Videos teaching how to make the 24 dishes have been published online, allowing cooking enthusiasts from all over the world to enjoy the charm of Chinese food.

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. More than 2,000 years ago, ancient Chinese created the calendar based on observations of the sun's movement. Nowadays, the 24 solar terms not only apply to farming, but also guide Chinese people in everyday life.

In 2016, the 24 solar terms were included in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
