Shanxi, Greater Bay Area to cooperate in agriculture

An agricultural project matchmaking seminar between North China's Shanxi province and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held in the provincial capital Taiyuan city on July 15.
Businesses in Shanxi province and companies from the Greater Bay Area conducted in-depth exchanges on agricultural investment.
Ju Zhen, director of the Shanxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, addressed the seminar that the province had rich agricultural resources with its foxtail millet planting area ranking first in China. Ju said it was also a major production area for quality vegetables, fruit and traditional Chinese medicine.
The agricultural products from the province have been exported to 58 countries and regions including South Korea, Japan and Europe, he added.
The Shanxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs signed strategic cooperation agreements with e-commerce platform Pinduoduo, Guiao Industry Group Co and the Shanxi Provincial Government Office in Guangzhou.
The seminar also made arrangements for investigations of Evergrande Tourism Group's agricultural development project in Datong city in Shanxi, Pinduoduo's leading agricultural enterprise brand development project and Guiao Group's agriculture financial support project in the province.
