HANOI -- The ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Film Week 2020 kicked off on Saturday in Vietnam's capital city of Hanoi, introducing the featured works of the cinema industries of the bloc's member countries.

As the ASEAN Chair 2020, Vietnam will host the film week from July 18 to July 26, during which several ASEAN movies will be screened.

Movies of nine ASEAN member countries will be screened in cinemas in three major Vietnamese cities of Hanoi, central Da Nang and southern Ho Chi Minh City.

Established in 1967, the ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
