Shanghai gold futures close lower

SHANGHAI - Gold futures closed lower Wednesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
The most active gold contract for December 2020 delivery was down 2.46 yuan (36 US cents) to close at 422.6 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 302,591 lots, with a turnover of about 128.61 billion yuan.
China launched gold futures in January 2008.
