CIIE promotional event draws South Korean companies Release date: 2021-02-03 Source:China International Import Expo Bureau
A promotional webinar for the fourth China International Import Expo held on Feb 2 was attended by more than a hundred South Korean companies.
The event was jointly hosted by the CIIE Bureau, the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Korea and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA).
Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of CIIE Bureau, said that South Korea is one of the most important countries for the CIIE as a large number of the nation's companies has participated in the expo over the past three years.
"Last year, many South Korean companies overcame difficulties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic to attend the CIIE in November. They have become our important partners in times of trouble," said Sun.
"We have confidence, motivation and the capability to make the expo more successful, and we welcome more South Korean companies to be part of the CIIE and grow with us."
Xing Haiming, Chinese ambassador to the Republic of Korea, said that the CIIE is a good platform for the development of bilateral trade. He added that the embassy will provide assistance to companies looking to participate in the CIIE.
Jo Hak-hee, executive managing director of the International Affairs Group at Korea International Trade Association, noted that KITA and the CIIE Bureau have already worked together in areas such as innovation and marketing, and will continue to collaborate to attract businesspeople to the expo and promote economic exchanges.
To date, dozens of Korean companies have signed up for the fourth edition of the CIIE. Among them are Hyundai Motor Group, which will bring three automobile brands, and auto parts manufacturer Mobis, which will likely become this year's largest exhibitor in terms of exhibition area.
