Great Wall Motors sold 139,012 vehicles in January 2021, up 73 percent from the same month last year, said the country's largest SUV and pickup maker on Sunday.

The carmaker saw robust growth in sales of vehicles under all its marques, from the popular Haval to the high-end Wey, thanks to its growing lineup of new models and the overall turn for the better in China's vehicle market.

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, car sales in the country could total 2.54 million units for January, rising 31.9 percent year-on-year.

In January, Great Wall Motors' popular Haval brand saw sales total 94,474 units, up 61 percent year-on-year.

Deliveries of the Haval H6 hit 46,368, up 76 percent year-on-year, ranking the model the best-selling SUV for 92 months in a row.

Great Wall Motors sold 10,260 Ora-branded electric cars in January, almost seven times the figure in the same month last year.

The carmaker's efforts to go overseas are paying off as well. In January, it delivered 10,972 vehicles in international markets, up 147 percent year-on-year. In Russia, where it has built a plant, accumulated sales have exceeded 150,000 units.
