4th CIIE to feature new biomedicine zone Release date: 2021-02-26 Source:China International Import Expo Bureau
The fourth edition of the China International Import Expo will feature a new biomedicine zone within the medical equipment and healthcare exhibition area, the organizer announced on Feb 25.
The new zone, which will be situated in Hall 7.1 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), will feature new biological products and therapies as well as research and development platforms and bio technologies like biochips and enzyme engineering.
"As the country pushes forward with the Healthy China 2030 Initiative, the government has given priority to the development of biomedicine industry and published several supporting policies," said Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE bureau during the promotional conference of the biomedicine zone.
"We would like to invite leading companies in the industry to participate in the featured zone to showcase their cutting-edge biomedicine products and technologies, and promote exchanges and innovations in the industry," he said.
Zhou Naiyuan, deputy director of the technology and international cooperation department of the National Medical Products Administration, said China has been the second largest healthcare market since 2013, and that the demand for high quality medicine has been growing.
"We welcome foreign pharmaceutical companies to introduce their best medicines and products to the huge Chinese market through the excellent platform of CIIE," Zhou said.
This year's expo will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.
