BEIJING - The Chinese mainland's actual use of investment from Taiwan rose 29.9 percent year on year to $330 million during the first quarter of 2021, a mainland spokesperson said Wednesday.
At the same time, 1,195 Taiwan-funded enterprises were newly established on the mainland, a year-on-year increase of 33.4 percent, Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a regular press conference.
Taking Taiwan investment via third places into account, the actual use of investment from Taiwan would reach $910 million with a year-on-year increase of 80.7 percent, said Ma, citing statistics by the Ministry of Commerce.
