China reaches 800-million-dose milestone in vaccination campaign
China has set a new record in mass vaccination against the novel coronavirus.
The latest figures from the National Health Commission show more than 800 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide as of Tuesday.
The nation only took about six days to increase injected doses to 800 million from 700 million, which was achieved on June 2.
Earlier, on March 27, more than 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were injected nationwide. After this milestone, the nation took shorter periods of time to reach a new hundred million doses administered.
The commission said it took 25 days to reach 200 million doses from 100 million; 16 days to 300 million and only six days to 600 million from 500 million, showing increased injection efficiency.
