A shipment of 567,600 COVID-19 vaccines made by Chinese company Sinovac Biotech left for Algeria via the COVAX vaccine-sharing program on Sunday, the company based in Beijing said.

The doses were the first sent overseas in a 200-million-dose agreement that the company signed with the United Nations Children's Fund on July 26, according to the company.

They are expected to arrive in Algiers, capital of Algeria, on Monday, it added.
