The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development recently issued a five-year action plan (2021-25) on promoting common prosperity through housing and urban-rural development.

The document's guiding principle is "to make urban life more enjoyable, rural villages more livable, and residents more satisfied with their housing conditions."

The urbanization rate in the province's permanent population is expected to reach 75 percent in 2025.

The province's housing security system will benefit 23 percent of urban residents.

By 2025, the garbage sorting coverage rate will be 100 percent in the province, while the coverage rate of greenbelts and parks in the vicinity of residential communities in Zhejiang cities and counties will reach 90 percent.

Zhejiang will also ensure that the high-quality domestic sewage treatment coverage rate of administrative villages be more than 95 percent.
