China fails to secure semifinals in Olympic men's team curling

BEIJING -- China, ranking the fifth, missed the semifinals at Beijing 2022 when the last round-robin session of men's team curling finished here Thursday morning, and the last four are Britain, Sweden, Canada and the United States.
This is the third Olympics appearance for Chinese male curlers. Before this, China ranked eighth and fourth respectively in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 but failed to qualify for PyeongChang 2018.
The events in the morning saw the tense competition for the last semifinals place between Norway and defending champion the United States.
Facing bottom-ranked team Denmark, the U.S team prevailed 7-5 to secured a semifinal berth though Norway also wrapped up a 9-4 victory over Italy.
Other actions in the session saw Britain beat Canada 5-2, topping the standings with eight wins against one loss, while Sweden ranked second after losing to Switzerland 10-8.
