Longtaitou, or Dragon-Head-Raising Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival that falls on the second day of the second lunar month every year, heralding the start of spring and the farming season. This year it falls on March 4. A popular Chinese saying goes, “Er yue er, long tai tou,” meaning, “On the second day of the second month, the dragon lifts its head.” And people around the country mark the festival with traditional customs and folk activities.
