Shanghai reported a locally transmitted COVID-19 asymptomatic infection on Sunday, a housekeeping worker who has been to six of the city's districts over the past seven days.

The infection is a 47-year-old man living in Baoshan district. In addition to Baoshan, he has been to multiple public venues in Putuo, Pudong, Xuhui, Minhang, and Jing'an districts over the past week. He has received three shots of the COVID-19 vaccine according to Zhao Dandan, deputy director of the Shanghai Health Commission, who spoke at a press briefing.

Zhao reminded all residents that have been to those venues between June 12 and 18 to undergo two rounds of nucleic acid tests 24 hours apart.

"We reminded all individuals involved in service sectors to strengthen self-health monitoring and take nucleic acid and antigen tests as required by industry authorities," said Zhao.

"If anyone shows signs of COVID-19 symptoms, he or she must follow personal hygiene protection measures and go to hospitals. Such individuals should also refrain from riding public transportation," he said.
