Huzhou becomes Zhejiang's first city to pilot decarbonization certification

Huzhou recently became the first city in East China's Zhejiang province to pilot the certification related to carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
The local government will employ multiple certification measures to recognize enterprises' efforts in carbon reduction. Trials will first be carried out in eight local characteristic industries including furniture, textiles and ecological agriculture, authorities said.
China aims to hit peak emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
Huzhou has long been pursuing green and low-carbon development.
In April 2018, the city was listed as the nation's first pilot city for green product certification. The certification has been widely welcomed by enterprises as it slashes institutional transaction costs for businesses and improves products' creditability.
In October 2021, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China praised Huzhou's accomplishments and went on to promote its experiences across the nation.
