Official: Anti-virus steps should be focused

A senior Party official from Zhengzhou, Henan province, has vowed to introduce targeted measures to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 in the central metropolis.
The areas that are being hardest hit by the virus should be put under strict control, while measures should be lifted gradually in areas where the epidemic has effectively been put under control in support of production, said An Wei, Party secretary of Zhengzhou.
"We should adhere to people-oriented, scientific and accurate prevention and control. And we should resume normal production and daily life in the eligible areas under the premise of strengthening management," he said.
An urged departments in the city to define goals, strengthen confidence and adjust and optimize prevention and control measures to ensure that zero-COVID status at the community level and the city's economic and social recovery can soon be achieved.
An made the remarks in a work video conference related to COVID-19 in Zhengzhou on Tuesday after he had visited local hospitals, quarantine venues, communities and related venues to inspect the work against the virus.
He asked relevant departments to constantly improve scientific prevention and control and urban governance to shun simplification and one-size-fits-all, while making great efforts to fight against COVID-19.
According to the Henan Health Commission on Wednesday, the province reported three locally transmitted confirmed cases and 21 asymptomatic carriers on Tuesday.
