The Chinese-French Environment Month, entitled "Blue Planet", kicked off in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, on Nov 6.
The event is designed to increase people's awareness of environmental protection, especially among children, and strengthen cooperation between Shandong and France in protecting the environment.
The event was jointly initiated by the French Embassy in China and the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government in 2014.
Three of the six themes of this year's event are "Ocean, Everything Grows", "A World of Coral Reefs", and "Rivers, Climate and People" . The event also includes a photography exhibition and related documentary films.
A course is also offered for children to experience the joy of waste recycling and enhance the awareness of protecting the ecological environment.
