The meeting was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of China sending the first international medical aid team. China has dispatched about 30,000 medical workers to 76 countries and regions across the world over the past 60 years, providing medical services to 290 million patients, according to the meeting.
Cao Xuetao, deputy head of the National Health Commission, said the commission would actively participate in global health governance and further contribute to improving international medical aid.
