An exhibition about currencies of 208 countries and regions was unveiled in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on July 26 and will run until Aug 6.

More than 100 people, including representatives of expats in Nantong and local enthusiasts of collecting currencies, attended the opening ceremony.

All the exhibits come from overseas Chinese Zhou Yuan, who also agreed to display the special commemorative gold and silver coins stored in the Nantong branch of the Bank of China at the exhibition, marking their first appearance.

Pan Qiang, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Nantong Municipal Government, said at the opening ceremony that he hopes this exhibition will help visitors learn about the history and development of currencies from around the world.

Nantong is a renowned homeland of museums and new-generation overseas Chinese and is also one of the most dynamic cities spreading its international influence in the Yangtze River Delta, according to Pan.
