Xizang Art Museum opens doors, celebrating region's artistic milestone


An art exhibition was held in Lhasa, capital of the Xizang autonomous region on Wednesday to mark the official opening of the Xizang Art Museum, the first provincial-level art museum in the region.
The museum boasts a construction area of 32,825 square meters and an investment of more than 547 million yuan ($75 million).
Duan Shengqian, vice-chairman of the region's federation of literary and art circles, said the museum will play a role in serving the region's economy and society, and it will cater to the artistic needs of the people by presenting a wide range of art achievements, promising the launch of even more outstanding artworks.
The exhibition showcases nearly 300 works created by painters from the region. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore this captivating showcase of artistry until Friday.
