BEIJING -- President Xi Jinping on Tuesday voiced his willingness to work with Joseph Nyumah Boakai, Liberia's president-elect, to deepen bilateral friendship and mutual trust, and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in a bid to bring more benefits to the two peoples.
In his congratulatory message to the president-elect, Xi said that he highly values the growth of China-Liberia relations, and that China applauds the concensus on the one-China principle, which has been built among people from all walks of life in Liberia thanks to Boakai's facilitation.
The two peoples, he said, have stood in solidarity against the Ebola and the COVID-19 pandemic, conducted fruitful cooperation in socioeconomic development, and forged a profound friendship.
