The "Silk Road Artists' Rendezvous" exploration activity was launched in Hangzhou on Nov 24.

Over the past three days, 84 artists from 83 countries set out from the Archaeological Ruins City of Liangzhu, traversing landmarks such as West Lake, the Grand Canal, Nanxun ancient town, and the former residence of Lu Xun.

The artists first visited the Archaeological Ruins City of Liangzhu, witnessing grand scenes from five millennia ago. During their exploration, some artists were moved by the wonders of Eastern civilization, while others glimpsed the commonalities of civilizations.

"I have visited some prehistoric sites in Peru, where there are also many exquisite pottery and jade artifacts at burial sites. I believe that for a country with a history of thousands of years, there must be some similarities in their history and culture, and these relics are the best evidence," said Hernan Illescas, a visual artist, curator, and creative entrepreneur from Ecuador.

The three-day trip allowed them to deeply appreciate the diversity and richness of Chinese history, culture, and art.

The "Silk Road Artists' Rendezvous" organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is an important achievement in cultural exchange under the Belt and Road Initiative. The Zhejiang edition provided an international platform for artists from various countries to engage in artistic dialogue and learning.
