After months of renovation, the National Wetland Museum of China, located in the southeast corner of the Xixi National Wetland Park in Hangzhou, reopened on April 27 with a brand-new look.

Designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, the museum's architecture resembles a UFO, and is integrated with the surrounding hills, creating a unique and eco-friendly structure. Covered in lush greenery, the museum blends harmoniously with the landscape, embodying the essence of wetlands.

The exhibition area was expanded from 7,800 to 8,500 square meters, and the museum now features four floors showcasing various aspects of wetlands. Upon entering the spacious lobby, visitors are greeted by a giant white art installation called the Ark of Life, symbolizing wetlands as a cradle of life for countless species. The installation, made from the letters of the Ramsar Convention, signifies wetlands as a habitat for diverse wildlife, emphasizing the shared future of wetlands and all living beings.

Hours of operation: 9 am to 4 pm, closed on Mondays (excluding public holidays)
