China to see cooler weather but favorable travel conditions over National Day holiday

Most of China will enjoy sunny weather during the upcoming National Day holiday, although temperatures will be 1-3 C cooler than usual, according to the China Meteorological Administration.
At a news conference on Sunday, Jia Xiaolong, deputy director of the National Climate Center, said conditions in southern North China, southeastern Northwest China, and eastern Southwest China will be particularly pleasant for nighttime activities between Oct 1 and Oct 7.
However, Jia cautioned that atmospheric conditions in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will worsen between Oct 4 and 7, potentially reducing visibility.
"Temperatures will remain low across much of the country from Oct 1 to 3, with some areas in Northwest China, northern North China, and the Changbai Mountains in Northeast China seeing lows drop to 0 C or below," Jia said, noting large temperature differences between day and night in these regions.
By Oct 6, cold air will push into northern areas, bringing light to moderate rain to parts of eastern Northwest China and North China.
The CMA forecasts significant temperature fluctuations in October. Most of the country, except the plateau regions, will be colder than usual in the first half of the month. Warmer-than-usual temperatures are expected to return to northern regions in mid to late October, while southern areas will see conditions closer to the historical average.
Jia also warned that October's cold spells and frost could negatively affect autumn crops, leading to potential yield reductions.
