China Coast Guard expels illegal Japanese fishing vessel

Illegal Japanese fishing vessel expelled in territorial waters of Diaoyu Island: China Coast Guard
A Japanese fishing vessel illegally entered China's territorial waters around Diaoyu Island from Wednesday to Thursday and was expelled by the China Coast Guard, according to an online press release by the CCG on Thursday.
CCG spokesman Liu Dejun said in the online release that the CCG vessels had taken necessary control measures and issued warnings following the law to drive the Japanese vessel away.
"Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands are an inherent part of China's territory," Liu said. He urged the Japanese side to immediately cease all illegal activities in waters around these islands.
The CCG will continue to carry out law enforcement activities to safeguard national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in the territorial waters around Diaoyu Island, according to Liu.
