Hydrogen energy tech boosts green power
The State Grid is taking innovative measures to bolster hydrogen energy for green electricity. State Grid Jiangsu joined forces with universities and companies to research four key technologies, with a goal to build a megawatt-level integrated "hydrogen-electricity-heat" energy system and develop high-performance power and steam cogeneration equipment. A national key R&D project officially kicked off its research phase, with plans for completion by end-2027. A demonstration project will be constructed in Xitaihu under Changzhou's Wujin district in Jiangsu province. It can generate 2.4 million kWh of green electricity and 2,300 metric tons of industrial steam annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2,600 tons.
