Türkiye praises PAF for exceptional performance

Turkiye has conveyed a strong intention to deepen its defence partnership with Pakistan, focusing particularly on enhanced collaboration between defence industries of both nations.

This commitment was expressed by Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Güler during his meeting with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, at Air Headquarters, Islamabad, where he was accompanied by a high-level delegation.

The discussions covered the changing regional security environment, reviewed ongoing defence cooperation, and explored future collaboration opportunities in emerging domains of warfare.

Both sides agreed to establish dedicated joint working groups aimed at streamlining efforts and accelerating progress across key areas of mutual interest.

They also decided to finalize mechanisms for enhanced training collaboration and reaffirmed their resolve to expand the scale and scope of joint bilateral and multilateral air exercises.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu highlighted the strong and enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye, and reiterated Pakistan Air Force’s firm commitment to strengthening cooperation in advanced training and aerospace technologies.

The Turkish Defence Minister commended the Pakistan Air Force for its outstanding performance, high operational readiness, and unwavering defence of national sovereignty during the recent conflict with India under the leadership of the Air Chief.

Yasar Güler also stressed the importance of exploring joint ventures in disruptive technologies, cutting-edge avionics, and unmanned aerial systems, citing the long-standing fraternal relationship between the two countries.

He further appreciated the PAF’s continued support for the pilot exchange programme, describing it as vital to enhancing professional development and mutual operational understanding between the two air forces.

The visit of the Turkish Defence Minister to Air Headquarters underscores the mutual commitment of Pakistan and Turkiye to strengthening strategic cooperation, reinforcing defence relations, and building enduring institutional ties between their armed forces.
