Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, launched five summer retreat routes on July 8, inviting visitors to explore the city's scenic beauty and embrace its refreshing escapes.

Route 1: Forest Park – Fenhe No 2 Reservoir – Jinyang Lake Park – Fenhe River Phase 4?

Forest Park offers lush shade where visitors can pitch tents amid lakeside trees. At Fenhe No 2 Reservoir, bamboo rafting slices through emerald waters, with splashing waves instantly melting away summer heat. Jinyang Lake Park's sandy beach delights both children and adults with sand and water activities. Fenhe River Phase 4 features pristine banks where campers unwind to birdsong and flowing streams.

Route 2: Jinci Temple and Tianlong Mountain – Juewei Mountain – Dou Dafu Memorial Temple?

Jinci Temple, birthplace of the Jin River, is cooled by the murmuring Nanlao Spring and vibrant ancient trees. Tianlong Mountain boasts deep valleys and pine forests as a natural retreat. Juewei Mountain enchants with serene temples, crisp air, and streams weaving through emerald peaks. Dou Dafu Memorial Temple honors the wise minister Dou Chou of the Spring and Autumn period.

Route 3: Senxi Valley – Qingxu Lyuyuan Eco-Farm – Yuwen Mountain Villa – Tianyi Mountain Villa

Senxi Valley, a hidden mountain gem, features libraries, lakeside boating, trendy tents, gourmet dining, and open-air barbecues. Qingxu Lyuyuan Eco-Farm boasts vineyards and agriculture tourism with seasonal fruit-picking. Yuwen Mountain Villa charms with cool cave dwellings, farmyards, and animals, immersing visitors in rural culture and homemade cuisine. Tianyi Mountain Villa's shaded groves and fresh air host vegetable gardens and family-friendly activities.

Route 4: Wenying Park – Yingze Park – Jinyang Lake Park – Jinyuan Beidasi Village?

At Wenying Park, 1,500 blooming lotuses ripple beneath a canopy of green leaves like ink-wash paintings. Yingze Park's wooden bridges curve through over 1,000 square meters lotus ponds, evoking a classical elegance. Over 60,000 lotuses carpet Jinyang Lake, creating a vibrant tapestry set against blue skies. Beidasi Village's famed 20-hectare lotus ponds display sacred white and red blooms.

Route 5: Zhonglou Street and Food Street – Ancient Taiyuan Town – Jinyangli Commercial Complex– Taiyuan Fantawild?

Stroll Zhonglou Street at dusk, where historic post offices and traditional eateries blend with modern cafés. Ancient Taiyuan Town continues 2,500 years of culture, with evening breezes brushing through its alleys.
