As the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression approaches, aerial footage has captured a historically significance site in Zuoquan county (once known as Liaoxian) in Shanxi province, which served as a headquarters for the Eighth Route Army during the war.
For 1726 days, the Eighth Route Army was stationed in Matian town and nearby villages. It was here that the revolutionary forces organized a series of what would become iconic engagements, including the renowned Hundred Regiments Offensive and the Huangyadong Defense Battle.
