Anji lures young entrepreneurs with innovation-driven community

At a modern office in Qinglaiji, an innovation-driven community designed for young entrepreneurs in Anji county, Zhejiang province, employees of Huzhou Yunti Technology are busy digitizing books and refining their B2B platform, Shulian Tong (BookChain Connector).
Founded in 2014, Yunti specializes in digital solutions for the educational publishing sector. The company relocated its headquarters from Hangzhou to Anji in June 2023, drawn by the county's business-friendly policies and strategic location.
When they moved, the Qinglaiji community wasn't yet operational, according to Wang Chao, a partner at Yunti Technology. "But from the initial consultations with local government officials, we felt the pull of Anji."
With help from the Tianhuangping township government, Yunti settled in quickly, hiring more than 80 young employees. Wang noted that Anji's talent retention policies and infrastructure have contributed to low turnover and a stable workforce.
Yunti's flagship project, BookChain, launched in 2016, integrates digital tools into traditional publishing, while streamlining the reading experience with features like QR code-based learning materials. It also provides publishers with user insights and data analytics.
By June 2025, BookChain had served over 3,100 educational publishers, reaching more than 280 million readers and covering 70 percent of the market. Its annual client retention exceeds 95 percent.
In 2022, Yunti introduced Shulian Tong, a distribution platform linking publishers directly with sellers. The system allows for one-click ordering, real-time logistics tracking, and automated payments. Wang said the platform now offers over 1.2 million book titles, processing more than 400,000 daily orders.
As digital transformation reshapes the publishing industry, Yunti's growth highlights Anji's emerging role as a hub for young innovators.
