The 13th Straits Youth Day, an annual youth exchange across the Taiwan Strait, held its central activities on Aug 1-7 in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian province, with the main event taking place on Aug 6.
The main event attracted over 1,100 young participants from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, with more than 650 young folks from Taiwan.
It featured three chapters and showcased the journey of cross-Strait youth in tracing their roots, exploring shared history and culture, building a harmonious home together and collaborating in cultural and technological fields.
Fuzhou unveiled the second batch of initiatives to support the development of a "cross-Strait youth development city", encompassing 10 initiatives aimed at bolstering entrepreneurship, education, transportation, marriage, tourism and other areas.
In a bid to foster closer ties and provide a comprehensive platform for youth development across the Taiwan Strait, 17 cities, including Fuzhou, Beijing and Chongqing, collaborated to establish cross-Strait youth development cities.
They also introduced high-quality "study tour and travel" programs along with premium internship and job opportunities.
On the same day, the third Fujian-Taiwan Young Talent Study Camp was conducted. At it, 229 Fujian-based employers announced 2,123 job openings across sectors like education, healthcare, technology and finance for Taiwan talent.
The Fuzhou Talent Development Group set up a talent service station offering policy consultations, precision job matching and career assessments. The initiative aimed to directly address the concerns of Taiwan youth regarding policies, job opportunities and career planning.
