State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company: Clearing power grid 'pathways' for port construction

On the evening of July 30, construction personnel from State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company carried out a line relocation project with intense efficiency on the 10 kilovolt Zhongxin 07 Line at the 35 kV Nanzhao Substation, paving the way for crucial port construction. The project is part of the ongoing "10 kV Line Relocation Distribution Project for Nanzhao Port Planning Roads” in Yingshang county, Fuyang city, Anhui province.
At the late-night construction site of Nanzhao Port, searchlights pierced through the darkness, casting long shadows of towering reinforced power poles and workers. The low rumble of insulated aerial lift trucks steadily raised the "yellow-clad" live-line working team high into the air. Below, the supervisor's commands cut through the sultry summer night, eyes fixed on delicate operations atop the poles. Sweat-drenched uniforms clung to the workers’ backs as they pressed on tirelessly.
Confronting tight deadlines, heavy workloads and scorching temperatures, Fuyang Power Supply Company executed meticulous planning and precise strategies. They organized multiple crews to work in rotating shifts, strictly implemented "peak heat avoidance" measures, and fully utilized late-night operational windows by activating "night operation mode". This clever approach bypassed residential electricity peak hours and midday extreme heat, reducing crew fatigue. Throughout the construction, the company employed innovative technologies and management methods. Brief power interruptions were supported by temporary power sources, ensuring uninterrupted cooling for residents.
Advanced live-line techniques allowed critical tasks like conductor connections and equipment replacements without user disruptions, achieving "zero power interruption" for users during the Nanzhao Port relocation project. Throughout the project, they not only efficiently completed the scheduled line relocation but also ensured "zero perception" and "zero impact" on surrounding residents and key port users, earning high praise from local authorities and communities. It is reported that this power line relocation project involved dismantling 1.04 kilometers of 10 kV conductors and erecting over 0.4 kilometers of new high/low-voltage lines, strongly facilitating the smooth progress of Nanzhao Port construction.
As a "core" within Fuyang Port's "dual-core, four-pole" multimodal transport system, the fully operational Fuyang Nanzhao Port is projected to handle over 4 million tons annually. This will fill the gap of large-scale port terminals along the main stream of the Huaihe River in Fuyang. Its significance extends beyond boosting Fuyang's inland openness, revitalizing Northern Anhui, and promoting regional coordinated development—it also demands higher grid capacity.
To fully support the energy needs of Yingshang Nanzhao Port Area's "golden waterway" development, Fuyang Power Supply Company proactively assumed responsibility and delivered front-line services, prioritizing port grid construction. "The port is Yingshang's 'golden waterway,' and the power grid is the 'lifeline' ensuring its unimpeded operation," stated the company, deeply recognizing the critical supporting role of grid infrastructure for the port's future.
They remain committed to serving local economic development and safeguarding people's electricity needs as their core mission. To this end, Fuyang Power Supply Company established a cross-departmental coordination mechanism, implementing expedited processing for line relocation needs within the port area. Any obstacles hindering overall grid layout optimization or new project implementation were designated as key targets, aiming to overcome the "final hurdle" of grid construction and lay a solid energy foundation for the port's growth.
Throughout the port construction support process, they adhered to "construction without blackouts, service without pause"—especially during the peak summer heat—employing the most meticulous planning, reliable technology, and resilient dedication. Working tirelessly day and night as "path-clearing pioneers," they ensured "green lights" for port grid development and "not a single degree less" of cool electricity for thousands of households, continuously providing robust and reliable power support for Yingshang Nanzhao Port's advancement and people's prosperity.
