In August, the Xixi River Bridge in Southwest China's Guizhou province presented a postcard-worthy scene as it spanned the river and canyon.
The highway soars above the cliffs on both banks of the Xixi River, linking Bijie with the provincial capital, Guiyang.
In recent years, Bijie has stepped up investment in transportation infrastructure, improving its network across the region's karst landscape and building a backbone of high-speed rail, expressways, and highways.
