This summer, Xuzhou has seen a surge in tourism driven by the "Su Super Cup" soccer tournament and the "Han-Style Heritage" cultural season. While visitor numbers and consumer spending have soared, record-high temperatures and climbing electrical loads have posed fresh challenges to grid security.

Pengcheng Qili, the historic corridor linking Huilongwo, Hubushan, Ximatai and other landmarks that carry 5,000 years of urban memory, has become the city's top "check-in" destination. To meet the sudden spike in power demand, the State Grid Xuzhou Power Supply Company launched a comprehensive special inspection campaign under a "zero-flicker" standard to safeguard this economic lifeline.

Dedicated technical teams were dispatched to conduct blanket inspections along the route "Huilongwo → Hubushan → Ximatai → Xuzhou Museum → Yunlong Mountain". Armed with infrared thermal imagers and real-time load monitors, engineers checked every supply line and customer substation for hazards such as unauthorized connections, overload conditions and aging conductors. Transformer earthing integrity and residual-current device functionality were also verified to ensure critical equipment operates with zero defects.

For high-load areas such as popular night markets and restaurant clusters, the utility positioned mobile emergency generators on standby and devised site-specific contingency plans, guaranteeing rapid response to any fault.

To date, more than 10 flagship sites along Pengcheng Qili have undergone thorough "health checks", with five identified issues already rectified. Stable power supply is now unlocking further consumption potential. By tightening coordination with local authorities and leveraging a grid-based service platform, the company has established a long-term electricity-safety mechanism that boosts service efficiency and quality, accelerating the conversion of "tournament economics" into sustainable development gains.
