Hongqiao Xintiandi, formerly known as Hongqiao Tiandi — a landmark commercial complex in Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District — is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.
According to Ren Sicheng, the project leader, Hongqiao Xintiandi has achieved remarkable progress in terms of foot traffic, attracting businesses and brand upgrades over the past decade.
The complex attracts nearly 100,000 visitors daily during holidays, a tenfold increase from its early days, highlighting its growing popularity.
Focusing on headquarters and first-store economies, Hongqiao Xintiandi has blossomed into a prime location for major companies such as Shell and Li Auto — seamlessly blending office with retail space to create a thriving business environment.
The complex pioneered the "first-store" strategy, introducing unique retail experiences like the world's biggest second-hand luxury warehouse and East China's first Duozhuayu recycling store.
Ren said that in line with the local development momentum to enhance its business and trade vitality, Hongqiao Xintiandi has aptly redefined itself as "the first stop upon arriving in Shanghai" — as it is directly connected to the Hongqiao Transportation Hub, aiming to create a premier experience for national and global customers.
Initially targeting professionals and families, Hongqiao Xintiandi has expanded its offerings to provide diverse experiences.
It now serves as a multifunctional space for business, culture and leisure — constructing a commercial ecosystem with a social gene through business offices, cultural exhibitions and artistic performances.
As the 10th anniversary approaches, Hongqiao Xintiandi will embrace further upgrades — allowing consumers and business travelers to precisely locate target areas and enjoy a seamless and efficient shopping, dining and leisure experience.
Upcoming renovations, such as Foodie Social bazaar, will offer a diverse culinary experience, while a Shanghai specialty souvenir area will provide a one-stop gift-purchasing service for business travelers — aiming to enhance the overall shopping experience with improved accessibility and ambiance.
