Railway to better link China's southern, southwestern regions

Hu's colleague Zhao Yangbo said as both Guangxi and Guangdong province have plenty natural resources and rich sightseeing spots, the new railway can help boost two-way passenger flows, especially on weekends.
The railway, which links the two prefecture-level cities of Liuzhou and Wuzhou in Guangxi, can also boost the development of the Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, which borders Wuzhou.
CREC4 builders have utilized advanced technologies and horizontal drilling to safeguard the tunnel's smooth digging, Zhao said.
As a result, they have made 52 scientific and technological breakthroughs, obtaining eight national invention patents, in addition to 18 utility model patents, and four provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological innovation awards, Zhao said.
As of Sept 28, construction has been progressing in an orderly manner, with 96.50 percent of the railway bridges and culvert engineering along the entire line, and 91.50 percent of the roadbed earthwork already completed.
