Li hosts roundtable with six global organization heads

Premier Li Keqiang hosted China's first roundtable dialogue in Beijing with the heads of six major international organizations on Friday, amid a consensus that the fundamentals of the economy remain positive in the long run.

Also present at the dialogue were World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde, World Trade Organization Director-General Roberto Azevêdo, International Labour Organization Director-General Guy Ryder, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Secretary-General Angel Gurría and G20 Financial Stability Board Chairman Mark Carney, who is also Governor of the Bank of England.

The event focused on challenges to the global economy and new growth momentum for China amid economic transformation. Participants agreed that efforts should be made to boost structural reform and financial stability to achieve strong, sustainable and balanced growth for both China's and the global economy.
