The first prison-themed teahouse was officially opened to the public in Suzhou of Jiangsu Province on Saturday, attracting many curious residents to experience the feeling of drinking tea behind bars.

The two-storey teahouse appears ordinary enough from the first floor. But when customers go upstairs, they will find the hall is divided by iron bars into nine cells.

Each cell, made to look exactly like a prison cage, is furnished with sofas and a table; a sign on the iron door indicates the imprisoned criminal is guilty of some certain crimes. Customers can choose whichever cell they are interested in, and waitresses are all in police uniforms.

Although many customers said they were here for fun, a sociologist suggested that underage children be forbidden from entrance.
