China condemns suicide bombing at Moscow airport

BEIJING - China on Tuesday condemned the suicide bombing at a Moscow airport that killed at least 35 people and injured 152.

"China strongly condemns the terrorist attack and offers condolences to the victims," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said in a press release on the attack at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport on Monday.

Chinese President Hu Jintao Tuesday sent a message to Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev on behalf of the Chinese government and people. Hu sent sincere condolences to the victims' families and wished for an early recovery for the injured.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao also sent a condolence message to Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday to offer condolences to the victims' families and the injured.

China supported the Russian government's measures against terrorism and was ready to work with the international community, including Russia, to fight the "three forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism, to protect the lives and property of people from all countries, and secure regional and world peace, stability and security, Hong said.
